We Make the Funeral Arrangements

Our funeral arrangers will work with the bereaved family, providing emotional support and guidance through one of life’s most difficult times. We’ll explain all the legal and financial requirements required for arranging a funeral, the funeral provider’s services and any third-party costs that may apply. We keep the paperwork efficient, so you have one less thing to manage. This first step provides reassurance during a period of grief and loss, while ensuring every detail is handled with dignity and respect.

We Carry Out the Cremation

We collect the deceased and bring them into our care, where they will be appropriately looked after until the funeral. Once the necessary paperwork is in place, we will arrange a date and location for the cremation, subject to availability. For attended cremations, we’ll discuss the available locations with the family, subject to availability. A standard coffin (including oversized where required) is included, with alternative coffin options available at an additional cost, depending on the funeral selected. We treat your loved one with dignity, care and respect.

We Return or
Scatter the Ashes

The ashes will be returned to the deceased’s family within 28 days of the cremation, or scattered in the crematorium’s garden of remembrance, depending on your wishes. Each funeral service is arranged according to the family’s wishes, allowing them to honour the deceased compassionately. If particular aspects are important to you, we can discuss the arrangements and accommodate your wishes where possible.

FAQs About Our Funeral Arrangement Services

An at-need funeral is arranged after the death of a loved one, when funeral arrangements need to be made immediately. Prepaid funeral plans, on the other hand, are purchased in advance to help cover the cost of a future funeral.

If there is no prepaid plan in place, the person arranging the funeral is usually responsible for choosing the funeral service, confirming the arrangements and paying the associated costs.

The first step is to verify the death in line with the legal requirements in your region. Once that’s done, you can contact us to discuss your funeral service arrangements. We’ll discuss your options, answer your questions and work closely with the appointed funeral arrangers to carry out the service.

The documents required depend on the circumstances of the death and whether the funeral will proceed following certification by a medical professional or referral to the coroner or Procurator Fiscal (in Scotland).

In most cases, the funeral arrangers will advise you on the documentation needed before the funeral can take place, and we’ll guide you through the process.

In some cases, yes. Some changes may be possible depending on how far the arrangements have progressed and whether third-party services have been booked. If you need to make changes, contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll explain what’s still possible.

If the deceased didn’t record their wishes, the person responsible for arranging the funeral can decide on the funeral arrangements. The family can decide on the best way to proceed based on their preferences and budget.

We’ll explain the different options and help you arrange a respectful service that honours your loved one’s life.
