Register the death
There are so many things to think about when someone passes away, but we are here to help you.
The first thing you will need to do is register the death with a local Registrar to where the person passed away. Then you can appoint a Funeral Director.
It’s important to think about what sort of funeral will fit with your needs and just as importantly your budget. Talk to family and your Funeral Director about your options. For example, will you want an attended or unattended funeral?
We have put a list together of the things you might want to consider.
If you choose an attended cremation service, talk through the options with the officiant or family:
- Nominate a family member or friend to manage the arrangements
- What would you like to say in the Eulogy and who will read it
- Where will the service take place – which crematorium would you like to choose
- Choose a date and time
- Who are you going to invite? Ask family and friends to confirm if they are able to attend so you have an idea on attendance numbers
- Think about the music to be played
- If there is going to be donations in memory of the person who has passed away, ?
- Talk to your Funeral Director about the type of coffin you would like
Traditional Funeral
If you have chosen a traditional funeral, who would you like to be the Pall Bearers to be. There may be family members, or the funeral director can arrange this for you.
